Lifecycle Events & Learning

Judaism places particularly strong emphasis on lifecycle events.

Each year, the Center staff and faculty work with scores of Bar Mitzva boys and young couples, preparing them as they enter new chapters of their lives.

Participants in the Bar Mitzva Program, not only learn how to chant the relevant Torah portion and or Haftorah, but also have an opportunity to understand how to find relevance in what they are reading to their own lives.  In addition, the boys develop an understanding of what becoming Bnai Mitzva means in terms of their role in the broader community.

Couples undergoing the Center’s Pre-Marital Counseling Program discuss a spectrum of issues aimed at fostering partnership, love, and mutual respect, while learning of the sanctity of marriage as viewed by Jewish tradition.
