Rabbi Shlomo Levy, Dean

Rabbi Shlomo Levy has served as the dean and rosh yeshiva of the Rishon Lezion Education Center since its founding in 1995.

He is a highly respected rabbi, communal leader, teacher and lecturer, kabbalist, and posek (decisor of Jewish law).

A native of Morocco who arrived in Israel with his family at the age of two, Rabbi Levy has played a major role in the religious revival in Israel’s fourth largest city, Rishon Lezion.

For more than 30 years, he has been involved in the leadership of youth organizations in Israel, the establishment of kollels (institutes of Jewish learning) and the ordination of rabbis who hold respected communal leadership positions in Israel and abroad.

Rabbi Levy is recognized for his work in marriage and divorce counseling, the adjudication of business disputes via rabbinic courts, and for leading two conversion institutes under rabbinate supervision. He serves as a pulpit rabbi in Rishon and is a member of the city’s Office of the Rabbinate.

Rabbi Levy is a graduate of the Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva in Jerusalem, where he was ordained. He is married and has three children.
